MEMINI | Remembering Victims of Honour Killings Worldwide.

According to the UN and The International Campaign Against Honour Killings at least 5000 women and girls are murdered each year in the name of family ‘honour’.

These women are murdered for refusing arranged marriages, for seeking divorce, for flirting, for dancing, for dressing how they want, for choosing their own husband, for picking their own studies and profession, for being gossiped about, for having male friends, for being raped, for trying to be free and independent.

These women are murdered in Britain, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Iran, Iraq, Denmark, France, all across the world.

These women are murdered by their fathers, their mothers, their uncles, their cousins, their brothers, their sons.
